So I recently purchased the Katz Eye focusing screen for my little camera, a Nikon. Now if you have a really good camera that will shoot either the AF OR the AF-S lenses.. then you prolly don't need one of these. But for me, I use lenses that are non AF-S so my camera body won't auto focus these lenses. Makes picture taking quite fun at times.
Enter the Katz Eye focus screen... wonderful. I never really knew what the old school split prism screens did... but now I do, and if you are having trouble manual focusing a lens you have for lack of auto focus on your camera body or in the lens itself... GETTHISFOCUSSCREEN.
However, as the pic above states, proceed with caution... there is a bit of surgery to be done on your camera to install the screen. If you squirm at the thought of digging around in your camera body, playing close to the mirror and flip mechanism with little metal tools, then take it to a camera shop... not me, I just dug right in... WooHoo! Be careful everyone. Have a great weekend.
